TMC: Who is J-Man?
J-MAN: J-Man is just a young 18 year old music artist out of the Eastside of Atlanta/Decatur trying to be heard and to make a name for himself, not only in the streets alone, but also in the music industry as well.
TMC: So what made you decide to get into music?
J-MAN: I been doing music since I was 12 years old (before that), but I say 12 because that's around the time I recorded my first rap on a microphone, and from that point on I made it mandatory to record everything that I write. I also been producing music since middle school and been engineering on pro tools for three years now. No school or any form of training.
TMC: Who are some of your influences musically?
J-MAN: The Notorious Biggie Smalls. He's my favorite rapper of all time dead or alive. I listen to him at least two times a day. But just to name a few others . . J.Cole, Tip, Juelz Santana, Jadakiss, Kanye West, Drake (sometimes), Nickelus F, Jay-Z, so on and so forth.
TMC: There are a lot of rappers out here today, how are you different from the rest?
J-MAN: I feel that my lyrical skill is up to par with me just being 18 and I feel I have so much more to offer to the rap game than just my lyrics but also the music that I put behind it, and most rap artist in the game now are unable to bring that to bring that table today. Not to mention that I'm doing everything myself in regards to writing my own songs, producing my own music, and mixing and mastering my own tracks. So I think that's what separates me from other artist.
TMC: What has the the greatest opportunity you've came across since being in the music business?
J-MAN: I don't want to speak on it too much, but I am in the midst of hopefully signing a deal with a major label soon this year.
TMC: Where do you want to see yourself in the next 3 years?
J-MAN: In the next 3 years, I want to have at least have 2 classic albums on the shelf and be well-known in all 51 states and also overseas as well.
TMC: How would you describe your rapping style?
J-MAN: Its indescribable. Just really providing great lyrical content.
TMC: What are some projects your working on now?
J-MAN: My 5th mixtape entitled "Business Man; The Paperwork" is expected to drop this month. Will be available on datpiff.com.
